Introduction, when we meet someone who is grounded in the present moment, rather than being caught up in their own moods and options. They stand out for us. We have a sense of respect and trust towards them. We may even remark about their ablity to be present with fondness "she/he is really down to earth".

THE PRINCIPAL OF BEING GROUNDED
“Groundness, allows us to accept all of life” ross

THE BENEFITS OF BEING GROUNDED:

  1. Weakens harmful emotions
  2. Reduces unnecessary thoughts
  3. Provides trust and self confidence

The Scientist & The Sage The Scientist tell us that the 1 st brain (reptilian) performs the basic functions for our survival, the 2 nd brain (mammal) produces emotions, the 3 rd brain (human) produces thoughts. If we become too identified with any of the 3 parts of the brain become over used and un-balanced producing unnecessary stress. The Sagas tell us that we need to train in the bare awareness of the present moment in order to keep the brain in balance and not suffer from self produce stress.

BEING GROUNDED:
What it is.
It is bare awareness, before thought and before emotion.
The present moment is where the truth of the moment lays.
The truth of the moment is what is present right now in the body’s sensations.

What it is not.
It is not conditioned by the emotions of the past.
It is not conditioned by thoughts of the future.
