Hi Everyone,
"Having a sustained interest in reducing stress is what I would like to explore over the next few months. We tend to forget to "be aware and take care" of ourselves and I find remainders and information on the topic is often helpful."
Since the last email went out before Christmas the website has been moved to a new website hosting company. In the process of doing this the former emailing system was lost, so a new email data base is being built. For some people this will be the first email they have received regarding Meditation Topics and Practices.
Please find below an outline of what I would like to offer over the next few months. My intention is to occasionally send out emails on different Topics of Interest in the area of stress and meditation. Topics might include:
- Interesting articles on stress and meditation
- Meditation practices i.e. joy, kindness, forgiving, fear etc.
- Topics of interest by various wisdom figures
- Audio talks by Tara Brach and others
*Please Note: We also want to respect your privacy. Your email will never be given out and will be sent as a Blind Carbon Copy (BCC). If you are not interested in receiving these e-mails please click reply to this stress and meditation email and mark in the subject - not interested. Your name will be removed from the emailing list. If you think the email may be of interest to others please feel free to past it along or we can add their name to the email list.
Topic: Stress: What Hurts? & What Helps?
These may be 2 good fundamental questions for understanding stress.
What Hurts? What things negatively impact our physical, emotional and mental health?
1. Expecting too much of others and ourselves.
2. Taking or making things too personal.
What Helps? What activities, behaviours and intentions enhance the quality of our life and help us reduce unhealthy stress?
1. Stress management - moderate exercise, proper food, time management, caring relationships and quiet time.
2.
Having a sustained interest in caring for our well being and staying educated regarding what helps and hurts.
